Endless Hosts "Fire Worship" This Week and "The Vinyl Resting Place" NEXT Week.

Hey Folks,
I neglected to announce that I was hosting 'Fire Worship' again this week. If you missed it, please check it out at the WORT archive. The show will be archived for two weeks. (If you listen during the second week, you will have to listen to the following week's program first, as both programs are archived in the same file... or you could always skip ahead 3 hours to hear the program listed here... confused yet?)

There are some video highlights and the playlist from this weeks show, listed below.

By the way, I also hosted 'Rolling With Scissors' a few weeks back and I have updated my previous post with the playlist from that show, if your curious about what I play when I'm not spinning Jazz. Or better yet, tune in to WORT next Thursday night, November 29th at 11pm, when I will be hosting 'The Vinyl Resting Place'... Pure analog Rock & Roll y'all!!!

Featured on this week's Fire Worship was this excellent track by Grupo Experimentacion Sonora. Be sure to check out the other videos below the playlist...

Ambiance - 'Ebun'

I leave you with this excellent interview of Giuseppi Logan from 1966. I featured a track from his "More Giuseppi Logan" LP during Fire Worship. Featured below the interview video is a piece from his first LP on ESP-Disk. It's titled 'Tabla Suite' and it blows my mind, everytime.

Apparently Giuseppi was homeless for some time. Somebody found him playing a very battered instrument in Tompkins Square Park on the lower east side of New York. According to what I read on YouTube they fixed it up or bought him a new one. Something like that. That occurance and a filmmaker named Suzannah Troy seemed to both have been instrumental in helping the world rediscover Giuseppi Logan, or at least letting us know he was alive.

After Suzannah Troy's short films were made of him playing in Tompkins Square, he was featured in Signal to Noise magazine and he started playing a few gigs here and there. From what I have been able to gather, as of April 2012, he was still living in New York and performing as a street musician. The last video is a testament to the endearing qualities of this man and his music...
